Events in Counselling Services

UVic Counselling Services is committed to supporting all students. We value both group and individual diversity that includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexual orientation, gender, physical and mental abilities, socioeconomic status, cultural orientation or national origin. All registered students are welcome and encouraged to participate in counselling, courses, groups and workshops.

The table below shows upcoming events. Individual counselling is always available. Some workshops and groups are offered each term, and some are offered only when requested. Unless a fee is shown, services are free to registered students.

Special Events (at the bottom of the table) refer to non-Counselling Services events.

Faculty and staff may see a counsellor for assistance in seeking a referral to the Employee Family Assistance Program

Urgent Counselling

Each day several 30-min sessions intended to provide brief counselling for urgent concerns are available. Call early to reserve a spot. Available (free) to registered UVic students.

Check-in Sessions

During busy periods, check-in sessions are available.  These are 15-20 minute sessions, where a counsellor will do a brief check-in and refer you to another counselling appointment or another service.

Learning Consultant - Study Solutions

One-to-one help using student-proven strategies for academic success.

Learning consultant offers drop-in help with studying, learning and other academic issues.
