The "Problem"
Performing well on examinations requires studying and
learning as well as being in the proper state to write the
exam. One difficulty that a student may encounter during
studying and learning or while writing an exam is excessive
stress. This might be experienced as anxiety, panic or "going
blank."
The Workshop
This workshop will focus on stress reduction techniques.
Some useful methods involve a focus on one's body such as
proper sleep, nutrition, exercise and avoidance of body
stressors. Other effective methods of reducing stress
involve learning to relax one's body and to breath tension
away. Still other techniques involve calming one's thoughts
and focusing on the task at hand.
This short workshop will describe several methods of stress
reduction and provide an opportunity to practice.
