Gaining Social Confidence
|
|
We are social beings and the longing for connections
with others is universal. We all want to have friends,
share conversational and maintain connections. Yet the
fear of socializing can be a hindrance to making social
connections here at UVic. Sometimes we can become very
self conscious about our interactions of lack of
interactions with others. This shyness can stop us from
attempting to converse with classmates, or to explore
possible friendships.
In this six to ten-session support group, we will heighten an
awareness of yourself in relationship to self, others
and within various situations. We will practice ways of
speaking, sharing and interacting with others.
