Exploring Anger Group

Anger is a normal and valid human emotion. It serves many functions in daily life, including communication of important messages, motivation towards change, and the protection of personal dignity and self-esteem. However, for many people anger is one of the most difficult emotions to experience. When anger is expressed destructively, or when it is suppressed, it can lead to problems at work, in your personal relationships and in the overall quality of your life. In this group, we will explore how to recognize, understand and use anger constructively. Topics covered will include perceptions and beliefs about anger, how to think differently when angry, how to express anger in healthy ways, and basic relaxation and assertive communication skills. The group structure will include teaching, discussions, and practice activities.
