How we feel about our bodies may be influenced by complex factors including media, peers, family, self-esteem and life experiences.
This group will provide an opportunity to begin exploring the concept of body image and how it is related to relationship with food. The group leader(s) will facilitate ways to begin understanding, reclaiming and redefining your relationship with food and with your body.
Sessions will combine experiential exercises, information sharing, and opportunities for mutual support.
Examples of group contents:
- Gaining an awareness of your own body image.
- Identifying your present relationship and beliefs about
food.
- Learning to pay attention to your internal messages about hunger and food.
- Ways to incorporate mindfulness practices.
